Hello! My name is Chris B. and I own and manage 250 Executive Building and started Brew Chamber ( https://www.coworkinstyle.com )- A co work office suite(s). I have visited and researched, a lot, to attempt to understand all the terminology in which I still do not have it all after a year from the time I started. So if you are a little lost on the terminology do not feel bad. It is a little confusing.
One of the terms I believe that are not well understood is Designated Desks. These desks can be your standard desk but co work spaces have implemented Sit/Stand desks for people to rent.
Sit/Stand desks are exactly how it sounds. You may sit or stand at these desks because the whole desks moves up and down as high or low you need so you do not have to sit all day. These are medium sized desks with no drawers or cabinets to store items either.
These desks are usually in a large open area where multiple people can use them for an hour or a partial day or possibly for a few days a week. So it is NOT a place you leave personal items or forget to take your laptop home with you.
As for BREW CHAMBER what we have decided to do for our designated desk rentals is to place 5+ desks in a larger open space and we will supply a small file cabinet and trash can for our renter. We are also renting ($240./month) these desks to 1 individual for 30 days or a couple months or for a reduced rate of $10.00 per month if rented for 12+ months at a time. This way the member can leave a picture or a couple of low valued items behind for the next visit in.
Only members and cleaning people have 24 hour access, but as a good recommendation one should never leave valuable behind at any location.
Thanks for reading this blog! May you be a little bit more informed about co work spaces and their terminologies.
Chris B
